I have recently been taking a Hurricane Kick down memory lane and busting out some moves on Street Fighter.
I'm not talking about Ultra-Street-Fighter-Alpha-12-Vs-Marvel-X-Hyper-Series-10,000 on the WiiBox3 but Street Fighter II and Street Fighter II Turbo on the SNES (and the downloadable version on the Wii). Amazing games. So much too them, fun for beginners and pros and such fun to master.
Anyone else play/played it? I use Ryu mostly, favorite characters?

I play it, a lot. E-Honda is the man. Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Marvel Vs SNK 2 are my favorites.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

What a game! Yeah I still play it ALL THE TIME.
Fucking Ryu, Sagat, E Honda, Blanka and Bison are beasts.
Capcom VS SNK 2 on the PS2 is amazing.
Sonic fucking boom. Metal as fuck.

It's all about Ken! I always use Ken. I know Ryu is so much cooler, but... I really don't know what my but is. I've just always used Ken. I had it on the Amiga, so I couldn't use the Boss characters which was annoying. There was supposedly some cheat where you had to swap floppy disks (yes, it was on 2 disks!) and shit... never worked for me.
I do remember that if you both wanted to be the same character in vs mode, you had to type in the cheat '7kids'. I don't know why this was a cheat when you could do it as standard on all other versions...

You are absolutely right. And I'll tell you why. FIERY SHO-RYU-KEN!
Street Fighter II is one of the games that holds such wonderful nostalgia value yet still remains better than most games available today, so much so that it makes me want to weep with joy when I think about it. I got Hyper Street Fighter II on the PS2 (which just contains all the different versions of SFII), and it's brilliant.
The music for Ryu's stage is the best computer game music ever, apart from the final boss of Final Fantasy VII. Someone should do a cover of it. I would, but my band's full of bloody idiots.

But he never had that on the original Jon. Well not on the amiga anyway. His moves were identical to Ryus, he just wasn't as cool

Well, Ken is definitely cooler than Ryu. It's probably because he's American, though we wouldn't admit to that being the reason. But it probably is.
Ryu's better in the cartoon though. Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, anyone? Best movie ever made, perhaps? Even better than The Godfather Part II?

He wasn't as strong as Ryu was he?
His moves would have a slightly lesser effect than Ryu's if I remember correctly!
He was cool, because he was faster, but Ryu was the man!
M.Bison was cool because you could do that electric side to side thing all day long, and the thing where he would jump and step on someones head.
I've got the Ryu theme tune on my phone, if you want it, next time you bump into me, demand that I bluetooth it over!

Ken looked more like a Grebo than Ryu, with his wild unkempt hair. He was my character of choice also. Him or Bison, the psycho crusher was freakin' awesome.

Leaping chops are my tactic. M Bison is also killer.
