"With local punk bands as support...."

Postby H.O.D. Feemo on Sun Mar 09, 2008 9:58 am

Gah! Who's ever played or been a gig and the owner / promoter insisted that their local punk rock band opened the night? They proceed to play out of tune, tuneless shite to their six mates then fuck off into the night. Not to be confused with punk rock which can be quite good, local punk rock. :wall:

Haha yes! Thats happened to us. Know that Merseyrock Mike dude? He did it at that gig you should have been on. Never booking a show through him again. The night was terrible, the first band went on at 10 and allof their mates buggered off downstairs for a drink then.

He seemed a bit of a cock to be honest. he basically said "I run this place, I do all the bookings and you won't get one".

Being punk and being local is not a hip justification of being dogshit. it spoils the gig for everyone.

Whenever we'd do gigs in Derby, we'd usually try and only do them with punk bands, because none of the metal bands in Derby are good enough.

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Until Elimination were confirmed for the gig in London, The Deirdries were the worst support band we've ever had.
