I listen to bare thrash. This week my most listened to album is Dreamweaver. Even if I'm not listening to an album that is specifically thrash there is a 98% chance it will have guitars in it and it won't ever be indie.

I hardly ever listen to thrash ever, although I love the band I am in and also the Vio-Lence album Eternal Nightmare is amazing.

Probably listen to grindcore, death metal, Kiss and ZZ Top more than thrash but it's just the best music to play live.

If I'm to believe this forum, nobody listens to thrash and nobody reads books or popular metal magazines. Wwwhhaaaaa?

I must admit i get frustrated with the closed mindedness of some metal fans, although I think everyone on here will go/has gone through their "fuck teh mainstreamz" stage before realising it's boring to hate music and you just come of as an angry bastard. You don't have to rant about bands like B4MV to be a metal fan. Looking back on it now i'm embarassed that i used the terms "true" and "false" metal but i guess back then metal was part of my personal identity whereas now it's just another genre of music i enjoy listening to.

As for musical "phases", I think this forum is full of people like myself who a few years ago got into thrash and found it a breath of fresh air, went on a binge for a while before realising that the genre has severe limitations and that once you cream the best bands from the genre you're left with aload of uninspired, generic metal.

to cut a long story short and prevent this being an essay, i agree with what Bill said

Remember my old man telling me "You'll be into the Beatles one day bhoy" and I did my Homer Simpsom "No way man! I'm gunna keep rockin' forever!" NEEDLES to say, it's two years later and he's had the last laugh as they are my favorite band now. I still listen to Naplam Death though, in fact, anything grind related still gives me a hard on. But regardless, in terms of having lots of laughs at low low prices, you can't beat a bit of Uk Thrash.
