It's a bit of a shame it's not a Germany - Russia final, though. The fine people at BBC/ITV could have done a mock-up of Stalingrad with Arshavin and Ballack throwing shit at each other.

In hindsight, I do think the lack of home nation interest did alter my enjoyment of the tournament a bit. I can only remember watching the final of USA '94 and, prior to this, that was the only tournament I've seen without England or Scotland.

I did a UEFA Fantasy League team with a few mates duting the tournament and was doing crap until the final game. I picked 10 Spaniards and Klose.
