Country, anyone??

Postby thrash metal maniac on Sun Mar 22, 2009 6:05 pm

I've been digging old school country music recently, and some weirder stuff with a little jazz influence!

SO

who likes country/bluegrass/folk music?

What do and don't you like?

I like The Eagles and Sheryl Crow. That's about as Country as I'm willing to go.

She did backing vocals for MJ before embarking on a highly-successful solo career, banging Eric 'Slow Hand' Clapton, Lance Armstrong and then adopting a baby because she's now all old and baron but still hot... sort of.

I know who she is now I've google searched. Don't know her music though.

You won't like it. Her 'first' album was like All Saints but in 1993. The record company she was with said it was naff (lying cunts) so made her do a more Country-ish album. Everyone knows 'All I Wanna Do' but her third album, The Globe Sessions, is reet good.

I've listening to All I Wanna Do now and I've never heard it. It's well crap.

Whaaaat?!

How can you never have heard that song before today? I know you're young but, damn! But yeah, I'll hazard a guess that I'm the only one on here who'll confess to liking Sheryl Crow, willingly or not. It's the same deal as Def Leppard and Level 42. Both great but angst-ridden teens and all of that.

I really don't like the Cheryl Crow I've heard....

Vaughan Monroe's Riders in the Sky is an amazing, prefer that version to Johnny Cash, its so dark and the lyrics are pretty metal
