I thought both albums were pretty good. I agree with Iain and think that Unborn Again was their best song. Actually, probably second to The Tragic Period. I accept that The Law was not as good as Slaughter but I thought it had enough strong parts to warrant listens every now and then. I'd like to see them play - would be awesome to see those songs pulled off live. However, as Tom said, I doubt they'd get enough people caring.

Their greatest achievement was creating a sound that Pantera could steal and finally remove the makeup

Exhorder's demos from 86 and 88 are really fucking good, just gave em a bit of a listen, they were just as heavy in 88 as they were on Slaughter (except the really crushing production)!!!!

Just imagine: no exhorder so no pantera.... the only music in the early 90's would have been NIRVANA Then again maybe Pantera would have stuck with the make up and hair and Machine Head would have been a straight Thrash band and thrash would haven't disappeared... but then Death metal might not have risen.... oh who cares.... I hope they tour, release some new non-emo heavy shit but realise I want to hear the old stuff when I see them live.

I think they're writing some new stuff, I looked on their myspace and it said something about that... here's hoping for the best!!!

To be fair, 1990-1992 was so rich in albums that I don't think anyone cared that Metal was dying out.

I'm not excited about those good old thrash bands return, usually they dont make good music...

I was trying to think of a short celebrity and Cruise was the first to come to mind. In hindsight, DeVito probably would have been the better choice.

The undergound scene was as busy as ever in the early 90s, it was of a lot of established acts that were having a hard time selling records.
Also, the term "heavy metal" itself was being vigorously denied by a lot of bands trying to survive. So many acts distanced themselves from the term in the hope that the grunge kids would pick up on them. You'd pick up a magazine almost every time to see a band saying "No, we're not a heavy metal band. We don't fit into that category and we don't make that kind of music. We make *insert name of band's own name here* music."

I seem to remember Roadrunner trying to push Exhorder as a Death Metal band originally. They were on a compilation album with Obi, Deicide, Pestilence et al called "At Death's Door". Then again Sadus were on there too. Just goes to show that Roadrunner didn't really have a clue.
