In 5 years people will be pissing and moaning about there being no metal scene and how come no bands tour anymore!

And then what happens is that enough people download an album for nothing that the prices of cd's in t'shops go through the roof, and folks without internet access, who spend REAL MONEY THAT THEY'VE WORKED FOR on stuff, end up having to pay more, simply because you tight arses want to save a few quid.
Eventually it will become economically unviable for record companies to produce albums at all, tours will slowly get smaller and less frequent, and on and on...

I don't get this argument at all. Surely in a free market with less demand for CDs the price would go down to a point that people were willing to pay (a reasonable price, not £12 for a piece of plastic!).The big record companies and shops have reacted too slowly to the change in the market brought about by the internet and are now paying the price and I, for one, will not be shedding a tear for them.

Record companies are far from going bust anyway. The same amount of people buy albums as they do download.

You're right... so we can conclude that it's not a free market... but myspace is changing that... oh hang on they've just done a deal with record companies which I am sure will disadvantage consumers AGAIN!

You're right not to shed a tear for a record company. It's just a company and it will do all it can to maximise profit and minimise effort.

What about labels that aren't so "big"?

I can't imagine they have been effected in a massive way.If theyre offering a niche service theyre not going to be making large amounts of money anyway. In fact as free downloading has enabled people to access more obscure music they may have even benefited.

Call me a thief, but i just downloaded it. I'm really impressed with this album actually. One song is rotten, the title track, but apart from that it's the fuckin business.

Fucking hell!

Not only did you manage to use a PC, but you even downloaded something. This is uncharted territory mon brau.

P.S. Did you get my hilarious message about the penis drawing?

P.P.S. Can I come round to 'your' house and get the album off you?

P.P.S. If not, then fuck you, you dick.

P.P.P.S. This morning I remembered that time I stole your phone off you, rubbed it on the crack of my arse, then dumped it in your pint. Oh how I laughed!
