Second option definitely. I've tried taking "power naps which turn in to hour naps" before, then waking up to blitz an essay, but it simply doesn't work.

But then again, doing work when you are ultra tired is usually pointless too.

I hate that scenario so much.

usually best to get it done, then you can sleep knowing its done and wont bail out when u wake up

I'm training to be a teacher so I can gt my ass employed. My school placement has been situated so far away that I have to do two hours traveling in the morning and often more in the afternoon because of train change overs. I have to wake up at around 5am to leave at 6 and I rarely get in before six-thirty.
In the end, I went for a bit of a compromise, rushed one lesson plan and did the other in the morning (it was using one that had been prepared by the dept., didn't require much effort). Still, got up at 4:20, this morning. I'm fucking tired.
