Just what the hell is going on here? (I don't mean that in reference to the moderation thing, I just mean everything in this thread!)

Blast you all to Hades!

How dare you ruin my thread?! You were all doing so poorly in honouring I, Ivan the Bastard, in limerick form.

Besides, you didn't get the split done very well. Having just skimmed over the Limericks thread, you seem to have left the debate over the spelling of poseur (it's so not poser, but still).

They stole them from Devon, we actually have the best pasties as well. Also boobs.

And custard?

Yes, the hot naked women wrestle in custard. On special occasions they'll fight in a paddling pool filled with freshly cooked pasties, but that tends to end in visits to the burn ward...OF DELICIOUSNESS

What about, cooking a striper (or several stripers) into a really big custard-filled pasty and then have them burst out of it?

 That's the best idea i've ever heard. I'm going to campaign to have the county flag changed to a picture of said stripper bursting out of a custard-filled pasty!

Iain's pretty cool. At the end of the day, I may not agree with a fair amount of what he says but it is, more often than not, very well expressed and well argued. I just got a bit tired of someone coming on here and constantly slamming thrash and thrash bands. It all seemed a bit unnecessary on a thrash forum from a (supposed) thrash fan.

And although Churchill is absolute scum, Adam Smith has been frequently misread - often intentionally. Chomsky (and I think Keynes too) has (had) a lot of time for Smith. It's just neo-liberals/neo-conservatives/hyper-capitalists(anarcho-capitalists) that created the 'invisible fist'... He actually makes a fair bit of sense.

There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"

Cheers!

Aye, the thing about me slamming Thrash bands is that I don't think I'm alone in doing it. When I was 16 I was a die hard Testament fan. Now I just can't stand them. I bet this applies to more than just me and not just in relation to Testament. The bottom line is, I got fed up of listening indiscriminately to Thrash. If I came across a new band I'd rarely stop to actually consider how good the band or album was.

That's not to say I hate all Thrash. However, I started listening to bands like Morbid Saint, Nasty Savage and Vengeance Rising at the expense of better non-Thrash bands. So I was discovering or rediscovering a lot of bands that I'd simply foregone for 3rd rate Thrash Metal. I mean, I was intp KISS and Van Halen WELL before I got into Thrash and I'd just forgotten how good '70s and '80s Rock (or as it's often referred to here, Glam) can be.
