Classic Crossover recommendations.

Postby STD_Caps on Fri Nov 19, 2010 5:13 pm

I've been getting back into crossover with the discovery of Leeway's Born to Expire/Desperate Measures albums. Wondering if anyone had any recommendations they'd like to share. Here are some damn fine Crossover classics.

The ultimate - Cro-Mags:

Leeway, not new discoveries but I've been meaning to check out Born to Expire for time. Here's a good un from said album:

A personal favourite from the Crumbsuckers' debut:

And the absolutely chaotic Ludichrist! Great band here with John Connelly, Roger Miret (Agnostic Front) and other dudes rocking it out:

"And what about the churches and all their wealth
There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"

I'm not a huge fan of crossover and don't even know too much about this sub genre

here's maybe one lesser known but interesting act from Germany

Wehrmacht did two wicked albums way back which are sick.
I think the drummer went on to star Cryptic Slaughter who are wicked as well.

I know some of them went and did Spazztic Blurr

And don't forget Carnivore

I like Wehrmacht but Cryptic Slaughter are other faves of mine, yes indeed. Haven't checked out Spazztic Blur or Carnivore but what I've heard of Carnivore I like - same with Ratos.

Finally got to listen to Septic Death's 'Now That I Have Your Attention What Do I Do With It'. Could do with better production but it's mad.

Also, checked out No Mercy's Widespread Bloodshed as I have been meaning to. Definitely prefer it to ST's Join the Army

Also, props to the UK for Amebix, Anti-Sect and Broken Bones.

Yeah, Raw Power. If a band's good enough for Napalm Death, they're good enough for me. That includes Cryptic Slaughter and this little wonder (though not this song):

There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"
