I got the Hysteria LP recently in a cheap haul... I think it's utterly crap, except a few tracks like Love Bites. Fuck Def Leppard!
Love Bites is the only song on the album I cannot stand. It's a great album; possibly the best Rock album ever made TBH. Apart from the fact it was good enough to spawn seven singles, I like the fact that they really went for the style instead of clinging on to the last remnants of the foul NWOBHM sound. This is probably best seen in the fact that you don't notice any solos except on Run Riot. More or less everything about the album is great. The guitars sound like keyboards, the drums sound as if they were being programmed by a one-armed man, and I want to be buried to Gods of War.
God, I wish I'd been in Def Leppard. Think of the fan-dan they would have got on that tour. Plus! PLUS! They were all complete booze-hounds. Dying of alcohol poisening having only just checked out of Rehab, a la Steve Clark, is a fucking brilliant way to go. PLUUUUS! FUCKING PLUUUUUUUUS! Steve Clark had a blood-alcohol level twice as high as that which killed Jon 'I'm a fat woman that can't handle his drink' Bonham.
Whilst I'm addressing you James, why did you lock the Rio thread?
You fascist bully-boy!
NP: Huey Lewis and the News - I Know What I Like
I'll spin Hysteria a bit more, but I'm pretty sure it's a boring as fuck album. Half your points were nothing to do with music, and the other half just show where our tastes differ I suppose.
And what Rio thread?
