I agree but it still doesn't come close to Show No Mercy or Reign in Blood

Nah, Christ Illusion was alright, it reminded me a bit of Seasons... Still, not amazing though.

It had it's faults(such as KK writing most of the songs) but when it's got Dave Lombardo on it then it's automatically quality. :rockdevil:

Impossible. Absolutely impossible. What did you enjoy? The drums not sounding like drums? The fact that each substandard riff was played about thirty times more than necessary? The cringing lyrics that still managed to get stuck in your head and you end up singing shit songs without realising it? Actually, looking back on what I've wrote, it was clearly a corker.

I used to quite like Re-Load (though not so much Load) and the first Metallica album I heard was the black album. I thought it was amazing. I now wouldn't listen to a thing post-Black and I consider it a solid release. I hope the new one is good - I could imagine them doing an album somewhere between AJFA and Black so we shall see. Can't be shitter than St Anger.

There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"

too true

also, the fact that those lyrics just don't cut it... at all... i mean how old do they think they are??

and the real reason why I think it's so shit is because of the whole pre-hype when Slayer got interviewed, it was all a little bit like this: "yeah reign in blood... fuck..... thrash.... fuckin reign in blood.... metal..... fuckin riffs.... fast.... reign in blood..... fuckin metal......"

All you dudes who are in a band have probably covered loads of Metallica songs. You should each do a song "in the style of" what you want to hear on the new album, stick it up here, and we can listen that if the new album's as rubbish as we all expect!

Even if you all stink it can't be worse than St My-snare's-turned-into-a-bucket. Loved the bit in Some Kind of Monster where Lars is playing some St Anger demos to his troll dad, who listens quietly then goes: "If I were you... I would... delete this..."

Plus I don't like people referring to bands in third person singular. Whilst Cynic is singular, they were a band and a band, by definition, should be plural.

'The Who was a good band in the 1960s.'

Despicable.
