arch enemy - rise of the tyrant (new album)
just got it this morning, only 2 songs in and i think i'm about to have a seizure. production's awesome, the amotts are kicking ridiculous amounts of ass and the riffing is nothing short of totally badass. bring the black crusade!

Ain't heard it, but at Bloodstock in the new songs there was a daft amount of soloing. Not sure if they just threw that in there for live.

I like it (especially Blood on Your Hands and the title track) but I still rate Stigmata, Burning Bridges, Wages of Sin and (my personal favourite) Anthems of Rebellion over it.
That said, it's definitely in my top 20 albums for the year so far.
Downloaded their version of The Oath by Kiss which they recorded for the Japanese version. They shouldn't have bothered.

The last album was proper quality. I'm so out of the loop with bands like Arch Enemy and Nevermore. Is the album out yet?

Not yet but it's only a couple of weeks I think.

Just downloaded it. I'd forgotten how grim the vocals are. Otherwise it sounds pretty good.

Fook me!
That's one HELL of a drum sound.
However, I repeat, singing is as gash as that bloke they had.
They need Steven Pearcy.

I like the band, I like the production and I like her vocals.
I am in the minority it seems.
Met them a couple of years ago too. She's quite tiny.

I quite liked Angela's vocals of Wages of Sin and Doomsday Machine. That might be because I was still an unquestioning mong when they came out.

There recent stuff seems very forgettable to me. Haven't heard the earlier stuff. Some of Wages was wicked, some not. There are plenty of better bands.
