Since my regular muso forum is down, I thought I'd post this here. It's a very quick demo I've just done of a new TOA song. Basically, my speakers are blown and I'm mixing this blind. Any advice on levels and the mix would go a long way.

Comment on the music if you want but that isn't the focus, especially since it's only a little clip.

My setup is:

Guitar/Bass -> mic socket -> reaper, using free ampsims and impulses. I'm using Drumkit From Hell MIDI drums.

It's essentially a £0 setup.

snare sounds a bit harsh but apart from that it sounds pretty good to me.

maybe someone who knows about this will chip in and be a bit more analytical, but sounds better than a lot of home recorded myspace music.

this is badass dude! like it a lot, sounds great, i kinda agree about the snare drum, sounds good but a little too harsh. everything else sounds great imo!

Guitar tone sounds awesome. Drums are blergh, snare cuts right through me and not in a good way.

I couldn't hear the snare issue, thanks for pointing it out. I'm working on the full song atm.
