Bruce Dickinson solo career of nice
Hello. I have just been listening to the best of Bruce Dickinson and the live version of Book of Thel is better than anything off the last two Maiden albums (apart from maybe Face in the Sand, I've also just realised I can't be bothered to pretend Paschendale's amazing anymore). Does anyone here enjoy the wonders of Bruce? His last album Tyranny of Souls was really really good indeed. Some of his earlier solo albums are a bit hilarious, but he became amazing again after Skunkworks (which in itself was a pretty decent album).

Tyranny Of Souls is very bloody good indeed. I've got Balls To Picasso as well but i have not really listened to it.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Tyranny of Souls is indeed enjoyable.

Seconded.
Saw Bruce live twice at Nottingham Rock city, the second time, touring "Chemical wedding" with Adrian Smith on guitar he played a few Maiden obscurities including,if memory serves,"Quest for fire" At one point,he began "let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number,it's number is POWERSLAVE" then preceding to play the whole of the song whilst wearing the egyptian mask from the world slavery tour.Needless to say we all went completely apeshit down the front.
And of course we got the immortal cry of "SCREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM FOR ME NOTTINGHAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Accident of birth as more Maiden than Maiden were at the time. I also met Bruce and Adrian Smith, they did a signing for the single in huddersfield.

Especially as it came out at roughly the same time as "Virtual 11" Not one of Maidens finest hours...........

You total bastard!!!!
I wish Maiden themselves would throw in some less predictable numbers. That's why I am looking forward to the next 'Early Days' tour so much!
I love Quest For Fire, really overlooked from Piece of Mind. And it goes without saying that Powerslave live would be a religious experience.
Personally, I wouldn't care if they forsook virtually all their live staples for once, in favour of an obscure set. I can see why people seeing Maiden for the first time would be disappointed by this, but I've seen them five times now and I really want to hear some gems like The Duelists, Phantom of the Opera (why the hell dont they just continue playing this since that Early Days tour?), Wasted Years, The Clairvoyant... well I could go on.
P.S. Maiden are the best band ever.

Iron Maiden upset me so much.
Because basically, they are the best band in the world.
But they're bloody idiots, for goods sake! They could easily make an aamzing album and choose a good setlist if they wanted to. but they keep being idiots. Bloody hell!
The last early days tour was the most amazing thing ever. The next one will possibly be even better. If they play Seventh Son of a Seventh Son... good lord. I don't even know what I'll do. I really dont. I bet the cunts won't play it, but if they do... That's it, they'll be no point living afterwards, my life truly will be complete.
And good lord yes. When they played Phantom of the Opera, I really could not believe it.
