After Metallica's shameless sellout to Kerrang becomes only the latest in a string of pathetic decisions by the band, Metallica fans turn to thier one saviour, Jason Newsted who has never given up his principles.

He played with Flotsam and Jetsam and with Voivoid, made Ozzy cool again and in general kept to his guns as the guy who quit metallica of his own free will.

Well, now...

Jason is playing bass in a new band, with Tommy Lee (Motley Crue stickman) and Gilby Clarke (session guitarist who was in Guns 'n Roses for 5 minutes).

No singer I hear you say

It is a sad week for the band that gave us ...And Justice for All

I'll be interested to see how this pans out!

I said "Yes" simply because Jason is the coolest guy ever. Even if it does look like he's selling out.

But probably they should get a chance, who knows, it could work.

It's not like Jason needs the money so i can't understand why he is doing this

Is this band going to play dead simple music? With a drummer like Tommy Lee you are limited a shitload.

Personally I think Newstead can do no wrong, besides, he might actually think that this is a good way to form a new band and play some great metal, maybe he sees it as being at the expense of the mainstream music industry.

Selling out doesn't exist. If he's happy doing it and still making money then what's the problem? Being a musician is a job just like any other.

i never knew he was doing this. Doesnt bother me though. newsted is the best a) for being the greatest downpicker in metal ever! and b) FUCKIN DOOMSDAY!!!!

newstead need to stop listening to so much new sepultura and start playing fast again haha, anyone seen his chophouse recordings with andreas kisser and tom hunting? its so fuckin god awful. having said that, i respect newstead so much, he can't do much wrong, my fav bass player , to be honest, if we could make a few million buck for going on some crappy tv show, i think most of us would without a doubt lol

I do love Jason Newsted, i think he rocks, wicked bass player, and such a driven and determined man!
