You're all more sophisticated then me. While Death are genre defining it's Deicide for me. I go through phases of listening to Leprosy and Human but I just like the thick sound of Deicide.

I dont think Autopsy will get too many votes, if any. But they should for their first album alone. If you're a big fan of Scream Bloody Gore get listening to Autopsy right now.

I had to go for Morbid Angel, I was listening to Altars on the train today and it is too good for words. Well said though Dan, Autopsy are absolutely fucking RAAAAWWWWWRGH!!!! And some of the Death albums are to die for. I love good death metal.

Although i dont agree with what he says first. SOME genres are very stupid, but a lot arent. I mean if i want to hear a certain style of metal because ive heard one band. Ill search for that style they they play, not just "metal" because plain "metal" these days its fucking Trivium... apperently.

I do in a way, I tihnk he means classifying stuff more generally to everyone, like people who don't even like any metal think it's all noise and shouting or gay like iron maiden or whatever.... I tihnk that's he's getting at... the term Death Metal scares a lot of people and gives kinda the wrong image, people not in the know think death metal bands/fans are all psychos who want to kill and rape, etc

People in college to generalise very much like that... Which is very silly. They should at least show some respect to real bands as none of them do. They owe a lot of it to Kam Lee and Chuck.

They all hate real heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden. But not just Maiden, any band like that. Then they complain about genres asking why we would listen to "wierd metal" like Thrash. When Thrash was one of the first forms of extreme metal! They think straight forward metal is Slipknot and cant understand how you can be heavier, fast and better than Slipknot. And it really makes me sad.

Things is Slipknot are actually really weird in structure and sound and stuff.... and really damn heavy... it's just a problem they are shit!

And yeah, loads of people just haven't even listened to anything classic before and they're told Kerrang is real metalz and shit.... Have they ever heard Reign in Blood?
