Re: Briton Rites
Sounds a little rough around the edges, but it's pretty cool beans.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Re: Briton Rites
It's certainly nice, but sometimes these bands annoy me when they try and sound like Black Sabbath and end up sounding like they're just playing one chord for most of the song. They're not bad, but sometimes that's what it sounds like and it makes me want to go to sleep. Or just put on Black Sabbath instead. It is pretty cool though. I'm just tired. And Roxanne by The Police just came on my itunes. Good night.

Re: Briton Rites
Vocalist sounds like he's trying to be Ozzy a bit too much, but the music's pretty good. It'll go on the long, long list of things to buy.

There's the occasional sub-par moment, but the songwriting is epic and Phil Swanson's vocals always put a heavy stamp on proceedings!

Re: Briton Rites
No one has mentioned the Witchfinder General drum pattern & riff rip-off (homage) in "A Meeting in the Woods" yet, ha ha
More up to date sound samples, from the album, can be found here..

Actually, I don't like the slapping snare sound they have got for the album recording.

Re: Briton Rites
That was one thing i actually noticed, but i thought it complimented the song pretty well.
Giving these another spin i think the riffs have some real chops, warrants further investigation fo so.

Re: Briton Rites
I think homage is the right word - it's instantly reminiscent of WG, but the riff stands up on its own. The song definitely steps up a notch at 5:16, love that section! Can't argue with HPL references either.
