I'm working tonight at Bar Cuntsta, but I'll come down for a bit, go to work, then come back down for some more fun! It does mean I'll miss the big boys, but hopefully I'll be able to catch 2 or 3 bands.

Indeed it was an awesome affair. I think the Turtle is turning in to my favourite small venue. It's made me even more excited about Apocalyptic Rage!

first off,a big WELL DONE to Donny and Jake for arranging and putting together such a well organized quality day.

Nebukadnezza:a wonderful opening, getting everyone fired up for what lies ahead.possibly the soberest set ive seen by the trio

Ligature:a great replacement for Rosewest who couldnt make it.i previously had seen Ligature at kingston the other week so i knew this would be a heavy set.filled with catchy thrash/hardcore elements which i enjoyed.

Dead Existence:a change of pace and good at creating a gloomy atmospheric sound, pure evil.

Sons of Merrick:unfortunately i was meeting someone outside and also having to go fill my rumbling stomach so went on a food hunt at this point, literally got back as the set was over :( sorry dudes.

Inner Rage:some lengthy mixed sounding songs in the set, good to see Nicholas of River Freshney drumming the hell out of his kit,his style is unique and it looks like hes enjoying every minute(rather than looking too much like hes concentrating/pulling wierd faces to maintain the beat).a real monster.
also i was loving the facial expressions of Tiago when he growled into the mic.

Mutant:this was my highlight of the eve!
couldnt be helped on the first song:poor old Sam :( (it happened again,de ja vu :D ).a swift recovery."The Rauncher" finally rumbled his way into the venue. :rockdevil: what a top new tune,"petrol powered piston punch"GENIUS!!

Olde Crone:after wrecking my neck from headbanging and creating me a small headache during the Mutant set,my stamina for the day was finally wasting away/taking its toll as id been there from the very beginning so i had to have a sit down upstairs wih a cold bulmers.so although i didnt see the set fully,i still liked what i heard.

Crowning Glory:what can i say, with 2band members wearing Judas Priest shirts and a leather clad, bald, sunglasses wearing lead singer with a falsetto vocal style,i think it was obvious where their main influence lay.
it was really rockin stuff and it was like a 2nd opportunity for those of us who were under 10years old in the eighties to catch a bit of the spirit of how it may have been.well thats how i felt anyway  great solos from the guitarist on the left, some real modern, catchy, fast riff heavy classic tunes.great stuff.

Dam:some lengthy, gloomy songs a good finish to an amazing day!

roll on slaughterday part 2 :rockdevil:

I had to leave just before Mutant came on, which is gay as fuck, but everyone was saying how great they were so that's good to hear!

My band of the night were Inner Rage. They were absolutely fucking excellent.

Brutal doesn't even come close to describing it. Incredible.

I agree, Inner Rage were a real surprise. I spent the whole set waiting for the singers head to explode when he sang.... fucking brilliant. A nod has to go to mutant though. It was an excellent set from them.

Just wanted to add that the Mutant set was a fitting tribute to their fallen friend as well. Nice one guys, I hope they play Céline Dion to the pikey for the rest of his miserable life.

I hate donny, i loved Slaughterday!

ok... i don't really hate donny, but being his no.1 bitch does come with its difficulties. like driving all his equipment around today... for gawds sake, i've only just got back!

Annnnnyyyywaaayyyy, Laughterday was awesome. every band was rocking highly with some really outstanding moments in some sets in particular. Mutant played extravagantly and its one of the best i think i've ever seen from them! and i've seen them naked touching each other, so you know it was good. afterwards Tom weed in my mouth and i did a poo poo on him. teeheehee...

Inner Rage were the highlight for me also, such a punishing set. its great to see them again, it feels like ages since i last saw them, and Tiago is a fucking joker! Ligature ruled, nick is also a joker of the highest extent! Olde Crone were also amazing, i love those guys and so it was great to see them again too. Dead Existence were brilient as always, i think fred should kick donny out of nebukadnezza and play guitar instead, he is much better than donny, and much cooler too. donny is a loser.

Well done jake and that other guy for putting on the show, yeah.

safe, nuff respect.
