Bare Knuckle Pickups

Postby zykloned on Tue Mar 25, 2008 7:49 pm

I have to stop spending money.

But, while I've got it...

I was on the phone to Tim from BKP earlier today, long story short, the guy is an absolute legend. What other company can you call up, ask the OWNER of the company for advice, and then buy off him? Fookin' top!!

Got myself the Painkiller calibrated set, so I can't bruddy wait!!!!

Crappy EMG HZ (came with new guitar, don't blame me) suck my balls!!

I know you can get them tweaked to suit your style, hence their price, but what sort of range do BKs have? Is there any kind of comparison with Seymour Duncans that can be made, i.e. do they do a pickup that sounds 'like a JB' or 'like a '59' or do you just have to go on personal recommendation?

I had a 91 ESP Horizon with a Customised Warpid and a overwound Sinner in the neck position. Its the first time I have ever had to take a pup out of a guitar because it was too powerful (Sinner). The Warpig was awesome.

23k for a single coil is taking the piss though. It was like riding a wild horse. It fed back through a combo. :)

I'd like to try a Nailbomb soon. Ive heard very good things.
