I just feel if George Lucas was really trying to make a difference he'd donate 15% of all Star Wars merch revenue to a cause.

Bunch of rich fucks giving money to their own favourite projects. I saw something in the paper about one of them wanting 'value for money' and generally treating it like a business investment, they shouldn't be allowed to decide which charities get money and which get ignored.

So basically, rich people are wankers if they don't give money to charity, but if they do give money to charity they're still wankers if they choose which charity to give it to...

Am I missing something here? Or are some of you just depressive maniacs?

I knew that was gonna make me look like an idiot. I'm too tired to get across what I was trying to say over the internet, but if you're gonna look at it as a bunch of people making private donations to charity, they shouldn't have announced it over the internet and had a huge press release about it. Plenty of them have been selling this as a public service where they give something back to the world etc etc, so they shouldn't be allowed to give the money away to the select few charities that got their attention. Bill Gates has at least got his foundation to work out how to give the money away most efficiently, which would be a good start.

Rich people will always be wankers. They got rich somehow.

Well actually it's probably public because it's nice to see good things going on. And it is their money so they can say where it should go.

People get rich by working hard or just in some strange ways. They're not all wankers. And by these guys giving a lot of money to charity, I'd say they're not wankers.

What is your problem? Who is being the worse person here? Them or you? I bet they give more to charity than you do. I know some people who have a lot of money and they are just as nice as anyone else, just stop, you are wrong.
