I'm writing a song about it on how much it fucking sucked.

I thought who better people to ask about this than the UK premier thrash hate cult.

What was your best / worst bit of the said era.

Good - Hetfields Mullet.
Bad - Diabolus in Musica - unlistenable.

I disagree.

I thought a lot of the best stuff that Thrash bands put out came out in the early '90s. Anthrax, Metallica, Razor, Slayer, and Testament all put out their best albums in 1990-91, as did a lot of other less well-known bands. It's certainly no better in 2008 than it was in 1992 anyway.

Oh lord, the list of terrible albums that once great bands put out is endless!

Good - Can't think of anything off the top of my head.
Bad - Risk, Load/Reload and Metallica's hilarious fashion change (good?!), Stomp 442, Roots...

Good - Death Angel: Act III
Megadeth: Rust in Peace

Mostly live albums from bands that were great in the 80's/early 90's. lol.

There was Thrash in the 90s..?!?? :-k
Ok, some underground stuff in the beginning 90s was great (Devastation, Sacrament, Cyclone,..), but that`s it.

The rest was something like that:

I remember seeing the until it sleeps video for the first time, I spent 3 years learning all their back catalogue then seeing them in eyeliner with bad hair just ruined me.

Just sitting here thinking of how bands could go so high from the start of the decade up to so low within near enough five years.

Exibit 1 - "The big 4"

Megadeth - Countdown -> Risk
Metallica - Black album -> Reload
Slayer - Seasons -> Diablos
Antrax - Persistence -> Stomp 442

Probably not going to do a song about this, it's too painfull.

I think Gama Bomb's "Thrash titans of yesteryear, they have shamed us with their recent piss" from Bullet Belt is a hilariously excellent summary.

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
