I saw Toy Story 3 tonight! It was just one of the best bloody films ever. Definitely the best Pixar and Toy Story film by far, but as an actual real film, it was so amazingly good. I mean, really, really good! You can't imagine how good it is until you have seen it. I've had such a smile on my face when I've left the cinema before. The characters are absolutely wonderful, Jessie isn't annoying at all which is a miracle, it looks amazing, the story is fantastic, and it's actually one of the funniest films I have ever seen. Also, they managed to make the ending amazing and quite touching without being too cheesy at all. I can't actually believe it was as good as it was. So so good. Ridiculous. Christ!

I'd quite like to watch it as many people have said it's good!

Yeah, this is one film that has definitely lived up to its hype, unlike a certain other big summer blockbuster this year!

It looks like Clint is releasing another amazing film In January: http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/wb/hereafter/

Hopefully some other films will be joining this one and True Grit (new Coen Bros Western) in the 'let's release an amazing film just before the oscars' rush!

Two lovely films I saw recently:

Crazy Heart - lovely film about Jeff Bridges doing some amazing acting pretending to be a country singer who's also a big alcoholic, oscar-winning (but also surprisingly subtle) drama ensues, very good film indeed and wonderful music

Milk - lovely film about Sean Penn doing some amazing acting pretending to be a gay man called Harvey Milk (who was a real man in real life) who was the first openly gay man to be elected into office in the US of A, oscar-winning drama ensues, really bloody emotional towards the end, crikey, it really was, and an absolutely amazing film, Sean Penn is actually one of the best actors in the world ever, and it's much better and more important than Brokeback Mountain (ie. it actually has a massively amazing point to make about equal rights and horrible homophobic America and bringing people hope, rather than just saying "here look, it's two cowboys bumming!" even though I did think Brokeback Hilarious was quite a good film).

Very nice. I continue to look forward to TRUE GRIT, which will be the best film of 2011:

I wish they'd hurry up and make The Hobbit two-parter. I can really picture Martin Freeman as Bilbo! The first one isn't out till December 2012 though :(

It's not that new but I checked out Apocalypto recently, I really enjoyed it!

I haven't made my mind up if I'm happy about him being Bilbo. They should've just got Ian Holm to do it again. Bilbo should be the same age he is at the beginning of the Fellowship as far as I understand (the ring prolonging his life and all that), so they easily could've bloody used him! Martin Freeman will just always be Tim to me, it'll be interesting to see how he does Bilbo!

Yeah I agree it would be best if Ian Holm did it, but I'm pretty sure he's in his 70s now and The Hobbit will no doubt portray him as a more youthful version of the character. It's also going to be interesting to see how they do the various dwarf characters justice.

Yeah I guess it's easy to forget LOTR was filmed over 10 years ago, thinking about it that way Ian Holm probably looks very old now! At least Orlando Bloom doesn't have to be in it, thank christ. And Liv Tyler too, she can also get out. Hopefully that amazing man Hugo Weaving will be in it, although I can't quite remember if Elrond is in the Hobbit... I don't think he is... but maybe they can just put him in it, because he's basically the best actor of all time. And what the bloody hell is that second film going to be about?

At least Peter Jackson is finally directing it, I was getting worried for a while there. That's the best news of all!

I'm happy that Freeman is playing Bilbo, I think that Peter Jackson (thank FUCK he is back in the seat) will get a good performance out of him and his looks are really perfect in my opinion!

I just remembered (I think, unless my brain is making things up), didn't Gareth make a comment at some point about Tim looking like a Hobbit? That would be a wonderful thing. Or am I getting mixed up with when he said he looked like a Fisherprice man?

I wish Morgan Freeman was playing Bilbo.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Actually I think I read somewhere that part of the reason why they're stretching it over two films is to show the Arwen-Aragorn back story more (as it appears in the original Appendix of LOTR). I may be completely wrong though... I hope so, because that sounds kind of shit. It would be awesome if we got to see the whole Gandalf going to Dol Guldur thing though!
