Francis Ford Coppela is making a new horror film called TWIXT. The difference? He will be mixing the film live as it plays in front of an audience depending on the crowds reaction. The outcome could be different if the audience screams more or less, you get the idea.

I think this is a pretty cool idea! What about you guys? Do you think this could have worked with older classics? Imagine The Omen with live mixing, could make for some strange results!

Interesting, shame cinema goers are so apathetic these days.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Cinema goers are apathetic because the films on general release are pathetic!

Yet people still go to see them, vote with your wallet.

Because some people only go to see the film because its a blockbuster hit and that everyone else is seeing it so they follow the crowd.
Some people call them demons. I call them bitches.

I have been Dian, I used to go the cinema quite a lot, but haven't been in ages now. Everything seems to be Harry Potter 8 this and Transformers 3 that. Bollocks! Grumble grumble...

Re: Live Cinema
Get your arse down to an arthouse cinema. I work in one and there are loads of great films released all the time. Depends if you can be arsed going to find them or not. Just because it's not on at Cineworld that doesn't mean it isn't happening!

Re: Live Cinema
I'll have you know that Harry Potter 85 is actually really good, apart from the rubbish ending.
But yeah, there needs to be more little lovely cinemas like this lovely one near where I live: http://www.phoenixcinema.co.uk/ and less dick heads around.
I want to build my own cinema where I'm the only one allowed in, like Cartman Land, so that no wankers who talk and use their phones and rustle their stupid fucking bag of sweets ruins my life.

But what about when the projectors break down? Or when it gets too messy? Oooh...
The cinema I worked at in Toronto was basically a big dumb multiplex, but it did occasionally do some good stuff, like they used to show independent films and then get members of the cast to come in straight after the show and answer the plebs' questions and stuff and it got Canadian premieres of Inglorious Boys and Flatman the dark shite etc.
Plus Scorsese came to watch Shutter Island which was pretty gnarly.

Re: Live Cinema
I haven't been on here in a while so thread re-animating.
There is secret cinema which I have been meaning to go to, where it is part film screening part live interaction/theatre. So you aren't just going to watch a film there's a whole "experience" going on as well.
For example they did an Alien one a few years back:
