Having spent a lot of time in hospital, it's bile that I really hate. I once had to put wee bags over a stomach drain wound when I was in hospital aged 13 or so. They filled up periodically, but sometime just burst without warning. Honestly, sitting there and realising that a bag of the contents of your stomach as just burst and gone all over you is quite demoralising.

At least you tend to feel better after vomiting. It's when you start puking up bile that you start feeling as if your head is going to melt.

I once heard someone getting one put in whilst awake. I reminds me of that film Glory (it's about the American Civil War) when they go into the field hospital and people are getting their legs sawn off depsite their agonised pleas. Again, horrible.

The one I found funnier was getting an arterial line (a canula that goes into an artery instead of a vein) taken out. I've seen a fair few canulas in my time, but this one was at least three inches long. I never knew blood could spirt ten feet across a room until that day...

My mate Ste (known to you lot as brian fantana) used my mums mates colotmy bag freshener spray as a deodorant once to freshen up, he smelt very....medical!
