Off the top of my head I'd say:
1. H.O.D - pretty much echoing your sentiments there dude
2. Seregon - killer live shows, new ep coming out, super hard working
3. Warpath - New album is super slick
4. Scythian - Already about 100 times better than they were last year, and going to get better
5. Mutant - assuming they release anything...
More importantly, all of these bands seem to have some momentum going which I think will see them get bigger & better this year.

1. H.O.D - Probably what everyone else will say.
2. Seregon - Bloody love that new Seregon track, cant wait to hear the new one.
3. Mutant - Lovely band. Track for Earache was brilliant, especially Toms voice. Cant wait for the next release.
4. Heretits - Their new songs are mint, doing something different. But im not allowed to say i like them, so they are a shit band anyway.
5. Warpath - I think these will also end up in a few top 5s. Very good band. What ive heard of the album is tight as fuck. Great production, very nice!
Lukes right, some of these bands could really take off. H.O.D and Mutant seem to just be getting bigger which is ace.

Re: top uk thrash bands 2008
This is what I enjoy:
1. STD (Sick To Death) - Not many people know this yet, but STD (Jamie's other band and Caps' enjoyment) are basically the best band ever. I've been to a few of their recent practices, and they're a fucking powerhouse. When they start gigging again soon and get round to doing some more recording, no one will bloody know what hit them! They're not entirely thrash - probably more crossover, but then again, they have a very original sound and I can't think of anyone to compare them to, which is great. Either way, they're fucking brilliant. Look out for them!
2. Nebukadnezza - I reckon these boys are absolutely one of the best bands around in the scene. So much power and passion, and listening to snippets of their new forthcoming recordings has got me even more excited about where this band could go, even though Donny's an idiot and a retard.
3. Mutant - I love them very much, everyone else has already said why they're wonderful.
4. Heretic - If their album is as good as those 2 songs on the Saltergate sampler, it's going to be bloody bloody amazing for the love of god.
5. Doctor Death - I'm not being biased because they're my friends, but when you hear their new song 'Master Blaster' you won't be able to stop humming the riffs for the rest of your life. Such joy, wonderful joy! They have written such brilliant songs and are the most wonderful and lovely chaps ever, the only thing I wish for is that they sort out their sound and tighten up a bit, then they'll truly be a force to reckon with.
I'd also like to mention Gama Bomb - everyone (well, nearly everyone) loves a bit of Gama Bomb, and it's been amazing to see them get to such wonderful heights. Well done indeed chaps!
I also enjoy HOD a lot but everyone else has mentioned them so I'll leave them alone.
And River Freshney are quite hilarious so I'll give them a mention.
I hate quite a few bands but I won't mention anything because it's not necessary.

I can't believe H.O.D, Mutant or Seregon haven't been signed yet, I look forward to properly hearing the delights of some of those London scummers in August. Blap.

1. Nebukadnezza - Fast, heavy, fucking brutal thrash/grind from hell. [Never stop moving.]
2. River Freshney - Seen 'em live a few times, personally think they're hilarious, with some top tunes! They'll eat your children.
3. Doctor Death - Well written songs, Steve always hits the high notes live, only downfall is they're just a bit sloppy, when they sort that out (like J-boy) said, they'll be top!
4. Mutant - I don't really need to say anything do I?
5. Muted - Not really talked about, but few catchy songs and they're gigging again now so I'm looking forward to seeing what they're up to.
London REPREZENT!

in no particular/alphabetical order:
damnas
doctor death
mutant
nebukadnezza
river freshney
i try and make all the above bands shows wherever/whenever possible.which is quite often/pretty much everytime around london and the south east counties.i gotta try and explore/adventure to wakefield and birmingham to show support too.one day y'all, one day...
although they are signed, gama bomb are really great too and still deserve a mention.
these are my top 6 uk thrash bands overall, and i got all the shirts and any cds/eps,badges,dvds and whatever else ends up at the merch stands and its always top, well put together stuff.
these bands in general go to a lot of trouble and preparation to do gigs so whats a few quid now and again to show support.
as well as the merch, the entry fees are always reasonable never more than £5 and sometimes free.the all dayers are never more than £10 so its always great to attend as many gigs as possible knowing its a reasonably low cost to see such high quality, enjoyable performances.my £12-£15 train fares/1-2hour journeys dont stop me either,so if more of you forumers(you know who you are ) get your asses(no excuses)to as many of these bands future gigs as you can, then we can get these bands signed!!

Heretic - Heretic's album's the only one I'm interested in hearing. Not particularly because I like Heretic but because they offer something other than the traditional fare.
I'll probably check out Amok's album when it comes out because they're mates, though I've not been overly interested in them in recent times.
