For fuck's sake, course weed can fuck you up. But so can alcohol, and in many more ways. I'm not against alcohol but I think all drugs should be regulated by the government. Cleaner drugs, less of a dodgy background (no links to terrorism - well apart from state sponsored - organised crime or kiddie peddaling), a taxable source that could fund drug awareness (instead of drug fear) and decent drug support clinics. It would also allow poorer countries that produce this stuff to develop a trade for their country instead of it all going to corrupt bastards.

I will never understand Ket because I have never heard anyone describe a positive experience on it. Heroin also appears to be too much, too addictive. I haven't done anything except booze in ages but if I go Reading (for Rage, mainly) I will probably have a play. I have taken pills, shrooms and weed but I rarely dabble with the first two. Also, a guy who used to be in Bad Manners once gave me some coke and I just started licking it. I was already pissed up. A really stupid thing to do. Coke has never appealed because I don't like the idea of taking things nasally.

As Blain said, moderation is key and that goes for most things. I am not pro-drugs precisely but I am in favour of people making decisions for themselves. I am also thinking of going completely sXe (and not in a wanker way) after my birthday this year. Start spending my money to help others than to fuck myself up.

any of the properly shit drugs (where none of it is pure anyways, apprantly pretty much all coke is now only something like 20% pure :S ).. Nasal taking of drugs IS a fucking stupid idea, unless you want to destroy your nasal filaments (is that what they're called... i cant remember) and your sini (is that right too? )... licking coke is not such a bad idea, but its not such a clever drug in the first place... especially since everyone i know who's done it (and thinks its great) more than a few times has then gone on to do it like every week (sometimes everyday on the weekend!)...

I can see why people like to distance themselves from the shitty culture that typically (or should that be STEREOtypically?!!?!) surrounds drug 'culture', but I'm a stoner, I must say!! Though I don't act like that unless I want to (ie- have a smoke and then just have a good time!!!), or unless I'm pissed aswell (then it can't be helped )!!!

Alcohol is just as bad as weed, if not worse, I mean I smoke probably equally to how much i drink (say i have 10 spliffs on one night, compare that to a night out on the piss - I'll probably have 10 drinks), I NEVER feel as fucked up in the morning on weed than from alcohol, also my lungs are rarely achey or anything (despite smoking lots, I also excercise plently!) the next day, but after drinking my brain, eyes, stomach, intestines and generally my whole body will hurt!!!

I have known people get fukced up on weed, and I have always said I won't let it happen to me.. it still hasn't... these people were waking up to have as many shottees as they could before going to college, then smoking all day on their breaks in college, then go home and smoke more... that in my books is total substance abuse, and that fucks anyone up... I only really like to smoke in the evenings, just like most people who like a drink will only drink in the evenings!! Classing everyone who like to get high in the same category, therefore, is the same as calling everyone who likes a beer or few an alcoholic!!!

Yeah most of what caps and Harris said covers my views. Too often users become labeled abusers by people who are anti-drugs! The idea of goverment controls on drugs etc is something I've also been saying for some time. I think we should adopt systems similar to that of Holland, where it is still technically Illegal and can carry sentence where necessary it is more tolerated because the govt/police can keep a check on whats out there as they know who is dealing!

I was unsure whether to put in my view on drug liberalisation because it goes against a lot of the automatic prejudices that have been ingrained within people. I'm glad I'm not waaaaaay out on a limb.

No I think we are definitly on the same page there mate, it seems the govt are stuck in their ways of scaremongering rather than addressing the problem in a useful manner. sometimes I think that people are still stuck in the 1930s with the whole Reefer madness idea

I've been thinking about that alot lately, recently several of my non smoking friends have classed me as a stoner simply because I enjoy a smoke every now and then, which I think is total bollocks. I wouldn't consider myself a stoner in the slightest.

Plus they drink way more than I smoke, if I were to call them alcoholics they'd just deny it and say that's stupid, it's total hypocrisy!
