I don't really find any power metal uplifting (unless you're talking really early power metal) because it is so contrived and tacky - give me traditional heavy metal over it any day, far more pleasing and uplifting! :P

Speaking of grinning like a fool, I was doing that through most of Iced Earth's set at Wacken last year, I was just so happy that I was actually watching them live, and I got a really good view near the front! Can't wait to see them again at Bloodstock with MATT FUCKING BARLOW IWEFHIUPHWFIUPHEFWUY4T870Y!

Some power metal actually makes me laugh out loud with some it's lyrics, Manowar as especially guilty of this.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
