Fuck it, there's no point writing these things in seperate threads any more, I'm coming out of the closet!

I have now fiendishly devised my 1000pt Space Wolf Army with which I will hopefully crush my friend's Chaos. Neither of us have played in years, and I've had to drag them out from under the bed and do some frantic glueing... but you have to understand, this guy is the most annoying competitive tit I know, so I must vanquish him.

1000 points is actually hardly anything at all :( I didn't waste points on expensive Terminators or the massive Land Raider tank. Instead I have kept it simple with a balance of close combat capabilities and some juicy Armour Penetration weapons to slay as many Chaos Marines as possible before they reach me.

Here is the force:

(bit bigger if you click - I wish I'd got round to basing this army properly)

I think we might do the battle on Sunday.

This place can be to talk about anything Warhammery btw.

space wolves are quite powerful, they take up alot of points, im not sure who will win, you will have to show us the points sheet and who has what, too much of the game is based on luck rather and what each player has rather than strategy, though fucking chaos are the best, i collect iron warriors, good luck james, why dont you make a video of the battle(try to make as interesting as possible and add explosions)

I am a big fan of Chaos these days, but I don't have any because back in the day I just had Tyranids and Space Wolves.

I won't film it but I was thinking of tpying up each turn into a brief Battle Report.

My Army List is this:

HQ
Wolf Lord Runeclaw = 125pts
Terminator Armour (15pts), Frost Axe (20pts), Plasma Pistol (15pts)

-----

TROOPS
9x Grey Hunters = 193pts
8 Bolters (1pt each), 1 Plasma Gun (12pts), 2 Power Weapons (20pts)

1x Wolf Guard = 53pts
Plasma Pistol (10pts), Power Weapon (10pts), Wolf Pelt (3pts)

10x Blood Claws = 160pts
1 Power Weapon (8pts), 1 Power Fist (12pts)

1x Rhino = 53pts
Smoke Launchers (3pts)

-----

ELITES
Venerable Dreadnought = 175pts
Twin-linked Lascannon (50pts)

-----

HEAVY SUPPORT
4x Long Fangs = 212pts
2 Lascannons (70pts), 2 Plasma Cannons (70pts)

1x Pack Leader = 36pts

-----

TOTAL = 1007pts

-----

I know a few things about my friend's army: he doesn't own any tanks (in fact I'm even allowing him to use a piece of cardboard as a Rhino!), he has about 6 Terminators (ie. lots of Victory Points in one place!) and he adores his Khorne Berserker squad (using the Rhino). So my main plan is to smoke as many Terminators and Berserkers before they reach me, and then tough it out in combat with my nice collection of Power Weapons!

White Dwarf is crap, £4 to buy a mag half full of photos and things for sale. I have quite a few old issues where there were some cool background info articles, but they seem to have cut down on that as well as raised the price!

I've just reshuffled the list to give the Wolf Lord a Belt of Russ (4+ Invulnerable Save!), but it costs 25pts so I need to cut something a bit...

~ ~ ~

ARGH! Turns out models in Terminator armour can't have a Belt of Russ! So now I've given him Runic Armour instead (still a 2+ save) but that is an extra 5 points!

It means my Lord is now 155pts on his own, but he will hopefully pay off - 4 Strength 5 (due to Frost Axe) Power Weapon Attacks, with a 2+ save and 4+ invulnerable save, and 3 wounds!

~ ~ ~

HAAAAA! I'm an absolute genious - I just saved 14pts and gave the Lord an extra attack! I gave him a Bolter (1pt) rather than the 15pt Plasma Pistol, because Space Wolves have the True Grit special rule meaning they can use bolters as pistols in combat, so +1 attack (though no bonus attack for charging, but I'm going to get bogged down in combat anyway so that would only pay off occasionally). So now FIVE strength 5 power weapon attacks!  (and Lord only 141pts now, force total 1004)

Sorry, I'm just using this thread as my general spewing ground while I plot my righteous victory... a bit like Craig and his PC cooling thread.

I have now removed a Blood Claw and my Lord will be accompanying the Blood Claws in the Rhino now, if anyone cares. So now I'm actually under the target with 993pts! Now, 7 points to spend...

Also the Wolf Guard Leader of my Grey Hunters potentially gets 4 Power Fist attacks now!!! 2 in his profile, +1 for having a Bolter (True Grit) and a Wolf Pelt means if he counter-attacks (ie. moves into the fighting once the squad gets charged by someone) it's another +1.
