i was into rap before i was into metal, i don't listen to rap as much as i used to but i still enjoy the following:

Oh, for the record I think it's quite silly for a load of metal fans to criticise rap lyrics for being misogynistic, obsessed with violence or money. I mean look at WASP, GnR, Venom, Motorhead, AC/DC etc etc
I think some of the statements about rap have been equally as prejudiced as the sort of shit we hear when we mention our music in cetain circles. 50 Cent and Chamillionaire are about as fair a representation of Hip-Hop as Nickleback and Trivium. And Nickleback's lyrics SUCK. Anyone ever heard 'Never Again'? If you haven't you're lucky but search the lyrics and you will just see what a stupid fucking clueless twat Chad Kroeger is, like you need further proof. Anyway, one of my favourite lines showing that gender lines have not been eliminated is Petrov's (Entombed) immortal scream in 'About To Die':
"YOU'RE CRYING LIKE A WOMAN"
