So yeah... we all know the obvious ones like Sabbat, Xentrix etc.... but what about the more obscure lost gems?

atomkraft were seriously pants!!!!! fucking awful band!!!!
There was a really good thrash band in the mid 90s (when thrash really was out of fasion) who went by pretty much unnoticed called cause and effect who were excellent. The Beyond from derby were really really good too in their early days, but they went a bit too experimental to be classified as thrash by the time they started releasing records. The very early songs like "scars and stripes" and "the firm" were awesome!!!
Other not bad thrash bands were .......erm.......arbitrator.......and .......erm............
Still, even if the list of half decent thrash bands is pretty poor, the uk made up for it post thrash with crust / grindcore bands. Yeah thats it, we excelled at punk, then had a rest and let everyone else do the thrash thing, then went straight for the post punk thing with bands like ENT, NAPALM DEATH, HERESY, UNSEEN TERROR, DOOM, DEFECATION, WARHAMMER, CARCASS, AMEBIX, ANTICHRIST, BOLT THROWER, EXTINCTION OF MANKIND ETC.
I spose you could include some of the punk bands who went thrash like broken bones, sacrilige and english dogs, but they werent really that obscure!!!

A band called STATE OF SHOCK, they did the Friday rock show bands battle thing and won it. They were great!
Does anyone know / remember them?
I would kill to get a CD.

Such a good album, very british sounding too - which is a nice change from all the bay area rip off of the old boys.
