NW Thrash gig may not be on

Postby Creeping Dan on Sat Mar 29, 2008 5:51 pm

The NWThrash gigs fucked up. No venues in Manchester have agreed to host such a gig, or in Liverpool. The last two i can think of it the LGM in Newton and The Citadel in St.Helens but some bands have said theyd want it to be a bigger city.

Somebody else should try n book this stuff cos itd be ace for it to happen.

Sorry guys.

The Brickyard in Carlisle. You can't actually get any more NW.

What about in Leeds? Somewhere like the almighty Josephs Well? That's quite near Manchester, and there are loads of venues there.

Surely you can find somewhere in Manchester - I've lost count of the amount of wank gigs I've played there with shitty bands, so this must have a chance? Where did you ask?

If you did it in either Leeds or Preston, I'd actually love you forever.

Grand Central is a pub next to Oxford Road Station.

There's also upstairs at the Scholar, Star and Garter, that pub near UMIST, the Ruby Lounge (strip club!!) and many many more...

Ruby Lounge looks pretty good I reckon.
But as one of the previous posters mentioned Preston would be even better.
You could join the ranks with Xentrix, Nuclear Assault, Acid Reign, Napalm Death, etc to have
played.

Alternatives
Blackpool Riffs
the rock pub/venue in Blackburn.
Yorkshire House in Lancaster (it was good enough for Municipal Waste).

Don't really know many Manchester venues but put a gig on at the star and garter a few years back, will set you back just short of £200 to hire but mightn't be a bad place to have it.
