Now that’s what I’m talking about.
What’s your favourite bad/filler Iron Maiden track?

Probably Judas Be My Guide or Weekend Warrior from FOTD. I love those songs, even though they're pretty terrible/hilarious. Mother Russia is a good choice as well!

Haha, I like Weekend Warrior too for it's hilarity.
I think I'd nominate Tailgunner though.

Actually most of NPFTD is brilliantly terrible, and hugely enjoyable because of it. I love Hooks In You.

Yeah what the fuck is going on with “Hooks in You”. I’m going to put it on again as it makes me laugh. Check out the photo of Bruce on the back of the inlay. He looks insane and really old.

Step away from the crack pipe!
That's like my favourite Iron Maiden song ever. It's not bad at all. Mind you, Iron Maiden are, in my opinion, one of those bands whose more well known songs you come to loath because they're overplayed. I mean, I've never understood ending a gig on Run To the Hills. There are some songs like Hallowed By Thy Name, however, which are both well known and actually great.
I can't actually think of many bad/filler songs from the Iron Maiden albums I love (Number of the Beast through to Fear of the Dark, excluding the one with Bring Your Daughter... To the Slaughter, which I hate). I suppose there are a few on Piece of Mind (Quest For Fire comes to mind). The only Iron Maiden album I can't find fault with is Somewhere In Time. It's fucking brilliant.

Re: Mother Russia
Yeah, Run To The Hills is probably one of the worst Maiden songs ever. It really isn't very good, but when I didn't even know it was a popular song and just heard it on Best of the Beast I didn't think it was very good. But Hallowed Be Thy Name is definitely one of the greatest heavy metal songs of all time ever. Their debut album is also completely flawless, as is Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, as long as you enjoy Can I Play With Madness.

That's kind of what I'm getting at. They'll play something like Can I Play With Madness live at the expense of a better song from the same album. They seem to completely ignore Somewhere In Time too. Heaven Can Wait is worthy of being an encore song I reckon.

I have three copies of Somewhere in Time yet it is my least favourite Brucie Iron Maiden Album…life is strange. Play.com would not stop sending me the bugger

It's probably because Adrian Smith's input to the album was more than it'd usually be. I love him.

Re: Mother Russia
Yeah Arian rules.
From the Twickenham setlist, I would have discarded Run to the Hills, Number of the Beast, Fear of the Dark, Heaven Can Wait and possibly even Can I Play With Madness in favour of some tracks which I would love to hear such as The Duellists, Stranger in a Strange Land, Infinite Dreams, Only the Good Die Young....
If they had stuck to the pattern of just covering Powerslave, Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son on this tour they could easily have made a perfectly good setlist. Although closing with Hallowed Be Thy Name did rule.
One Maiden song I despise is Women in Uniform!

Mother Russia would be my choice too. back in the early 90s I spent many an hour programming it into a sequencer on my Amiga500+, with sexy results (sort of).

amazing, i have a tape somewhere of a recent endeavor to make metal videos on my C64.... didn't get too far though however. But the notion alone is both sexual and warming.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Shit! I remember that. Have you still got it?
Favourite bad song has to be Holy smoke, if only just for the video.
