Last night was great, they re-played 2 episodes of Rock Family Trees- the Deep Purple and Black Sabbath ones, lovely stuff! Am watching Heavy Metal Brittania later on with a mate :)

I watched half of it so far, yeah it's quite good.

The Rock Family tree for Sabbath is also excellent.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Creeping Dan wrote:Haha brilliant! Im glad they gave Blue Cheer a mention. Have you heard the first Blue Cheer album? It's just sooo good. I sort of consider parts of that album to be metal, but it was never fully metal until Sabbath just nailed it. Seeing them live with Dio is going to be amazing too. Just hopefully one day ill see them with Ozzy too.

I don't know Blue Cheer yet, will have to investigate. They also mentioned some weird guy's band from the 60s - John... something? Wore creepy stage make-up... sounded worth looking into as well.

Ah, YES! Crazy stuff...

Hahaha, his dancing is the best. And look at the stage crew dousing him in smoke near the end

Finally saw this, very good documentary. I was watching it more for the interviews than the facts and stuff, which are basically 'everyone was kind of hard rockish, then Sabbath came along and blew them all a new arsehole' in my opinion. Halford and Sabbath came across very well from it, especially Ward and Butler who seemed like bloody nice guys. I've also got the urge to listen to more Diamond Head based entirely off the interview with their guitarist, probably the most normal and down to earth real person I've seen on TV in a long time. Bloody good watch in all.

That guy once complemented my patch jacket while I was using a urinal at a Diamond Head gig

It makes you feel so gutted for Diamond Head that they never 'made it' like others did - though only a tiny number did I suppose from the NWOBHM pack.

This exactly! Such a heavy sound, they took the heavy grooves of Cream and Hendrix and made it heavier!!!

Also James.... SHAME for not knowing the Crazy World of Arthur Brown!!! The man is pretty legendary
