The only Exodus album I rate is BBB. It happens to be my favourite thrash metal album though <3<3

FAIL. Sorry sir but wow, that isn't true!

Exodus = BBB and to some extent, POTF. FD has two, yes TWO rubbish covers on it and a handful of other good tracks, no way near as good as their debut and follow up!

And also, Metallica DID invent thrash, other bands were playing similar sounding music (the demo bands as someone put it) but Metallica really nailed it. Disagreeing with this is invalid!

i totally agree!! Metallica did invent it! it seems like its the cool thing to do these days to dislike Metllica. i believe people are lying when they say they dont like Metallica, put on any of their first 5 records and its just impoosible not to enjoy it!

im sorry :( but seriously on kill em all is good and some tracks from RtL and MoP are good, metallica isnt anything speacial... and ffs not the inventors of thrash. thrash was generated by many many many many bands, metallica just put their album first out, and others were just recording at the moment...

not agreeing this makes you complete moron. ty

No Metallica def invented it. That is something that is not even arguable. Other bands may have been attempting to do similar things, but It was Metallica who were the first to really nail this punk sound. In no small part thanks to Dave Mustaine who on his audition for Metallica ripped out the intro to Last Rites, Loved to Deth while he was warming up and they hired him on that...no one else was even close to playing anything like that, then the bay area bands heard Metallica and the final pieces of the puzzles fell into place!

Some tracks from RTL? .... There really are just some albums that you can not contest, I am not the biggest fan of of MoP but I still cant deny that the whole thing for most people is bloody amazing (i am a RTL and Black album man myself) but it has become far too cool for people to think metallica is rubbish now!

TOM - Do you not like the Exodus cover of Low Rider? It is bloody genius lol! I think it is cause i am not a massvie fan of Baloff however I just find likes of some of the other big four more inventive then Exodus... doesnt help that they fucking awful when i saw them live and they ruined my fav song (Toxic waltz)

my oppinion is that thrash was invented by bay area... not just one band :)

Seeing as Metallica were from LA and then later moved to the Bay Area, i cant believe that one.

Well technically speaking. Leather Charm was the first thrash band. They wrote Hit The Lights in 1981.

What's all this stuff about it being fashionable to hate Metallica now? The only person I've ever met who claimed not to like them was wearing a Slipknot shirt, which says it all really. I'm not even a massive fan of them but they obviously belong in the big 4, whether they invented it or not they did 4 amazing albums and one average one, which equals any of the other bands being mentioned here.
