I'm not so sure really. I think the fundamental flaw with the Terminator franchise is the constant undermining of one film by the other because of the space-time continuum thing. I know I've said it before, but a fully-fledged director's cut of Terminator would have made Terminator 2 pretty much impossible to make because Sarah Connor actually introduces the idea of pre-empting history. I guess you could say that Terminator left the door open for Terminator 2 with the remains of the first T-101 but Terminator 2 was largely about rectifying that. If I remember correctly, Terminator 3 didn't really explain how there could be yet more Terminators in any meaningful way: 'we didn't stop it; we just delayed it' or something equally crap.

At the end of the day, Terminator - like Star Wars, Alien and Predator before it - is a cool enough concept for film after shitty film which people will go and see to be made. Whilst I'm sure Christian 'Monster Penis' Bale alone will make Terminator Salvation worth seeing, I know I'm almost bound to get annoyed by the inexplicable circumventions of causality which seem to accompany Terminator films. I'm actually quite glad Arndog isn't going to be in this though because it means that, unlike Rambo: The Return of Trautman and Rambo LXXIV, it won't just be an excuse for '80s geeks to shout 'pwnage!' or whatever in cinemas.

Talking about directors cuts that could change sequels, the uncut version of aliens had the crew being slowly turned into eggs (its on youtube) which would of made a lot of Aliens irrelevant as it would be marines vs eggs

I don't know what to think about this new Terminator flick, on the one hand, I was so MASSIVELY disappointed by T3 that I just don't trust any attempts at a new Terminator film.

On the other hand, Bale... Also, what one can only hope is a more serious and well thought out Terminator, unlike that last pile of crap.

EDIT: Shit! I just re-watched it. I never noticed they were turning into eggs before. Those sets are too dark for their own good.

Yeah the TV Show is awesome, seen all 9 Episodes of Season One and loved it. huge Terminator fan and the TV Show also had fit women in in, result.
