With me I just turn the mids and gain to 10, everything else, half way.

I generally put drive/gain from 4-7 (depending on amp/pedal) bass 5ish, Mids about 8-9, treble about 6 and use the presence rolled up to shape the higher/middy frequencys and give the mids the cut and attack

I like best and record with the scooped sound: treb 9, mid 1 for me. I'm well impressed with that new one I've got tonight though from this topic. Sounds so black metal. It makes you come up with darker riffs on the spot. I think pick size and attack is most of the battle though.

He used two of them together through a Hi Watt amp. I believe he had the drive on both all the way down and the level on both all the way up.
