Save the Snooty Fox

Postby aruzo on Tue Jul 06, 2010 11:53 pm

So I've been planning things with Gaz and Malc and it looks like the gig will most probably happen on 22nd October due to the venue being fully booked on Saturdays, and Sundays just aren't good days are they?

So just looking to see how many bands are interested in playing this Thrash fest. All proceeds will obviously go towards the Snooty Fox, any other ideas people have please reply and share. It should be a huge event and an event you shouldn't forget!

Save the Snooty Fox!

(Planning a poster and some more information so sit tight, just seeing how much interest we have in this event.)

Might be worth not limiting it to just thrash?

Might be worth considering to book it at a different date,That is the weekend of Supersonic in Birmingham and Live Evil in London.

Go on official site, click gig guide and see if theres any better dates. Saturdays are like fully booked until like the end of the year. Theres a few fridays in October, I think.

Well since we're on UKThrash which is predominantly Thrash bands, just thought it would be awesome to sort a full thrash bill out, get the scene together to help save a venue which in my opinion has done a lot for Uk Thrash. I'm also guessing theres going to be more of these gigs.

Full Thrash Assault was only a 2 month ago or so. I would'nt want to see the same 4-5 bands again, it would be pointless. Plus there are way more different genre gigs there so why single out a crowd when the goal is the same.

I wouldn't want to risk having to play with black metal bands again.

Have more fun rocking bands, christ alive, jesus almighty, know what I mean. For a cause like this you might as well widen your potential audience as much as possible, having a load of extreme bands and about 10 people turning up to watch them kind of defeats the point here. I don't have any suggestions because most bands are shit, but something like some of the bands on here mixed with glorious bands like Enforcer (not actually Enforcer, but that kind of genre) and Led Zeppelin (actually Led Zeppelin), and there you go, big boys rocking day out at the Snooty Fox, let's 'ave a laugh please.

Actually Blaze Bayley has headlined the Snooty Fox before, he's amazing with wonderful integrity so if you told him what was happening and offered to pay him £10, he'd probably do it, and a hundred people would come down. Brilliant.

Well we'll try and get bands who were not on FTA. As I said just thought it would be awesome to get some thrash bands on the bill basically. Something from UKThrash, a way of saying thank you to the venue. As I said there will need to be more of these fundraisers but I thought it would be awesome to have a thrash bill and believe me I'll try and mix it up a little from FTA. Just because you don't like Thrash doesn't mean we can't have an all Thrash bill and also you can't have enough thrash gigs.

Nobody said this. But yeah, there's no way of talking you out of it.

You can always have too much thrash. Loads of modern bands just thrash-by-numbers and many of the bands from this scene from 3-5 years ago seem to be changing in direction.
