I owned a few 80's ML's. They are more inconsistent than the early 00's USA ML's but if you have a good one they rock! The early 00's US Masters built DEAN ML's are absolutely stunning though. Problem is that when DEAN was owned by Tropical music in the 90's they made a lot of shitty guitars. When Elliott Rubinson bought the name in (i believe 1999) and especially since Dean B. Zelinksy got back in 2001 they made some stellar USA guitars. I have two custom built guitars from 2003 and 2004 (a trans blueburst ML and a natural V) which I cherish. Of course the cheapo Korean made DEANs are not comparable at all, but in the repspective price ranges they are good. I played one of the Korean lightning bolt ML's and it was really nice.

Yeah the one I have is a cheap Korean one, but it does sound pretty damn good. I'm quite happy with it and have been using it loads lately! I put some guage 11's on it and it sounds awesome. I've been using 10's for years but fuck that shizzz!!!

That's fucking cool! I was going to get one of those ages ago but ended up getting a Jackson instead. In my experience BC Rich's always sound really fucking heavy compared to other cheap guitars. I think you've got that for a decent price there too.

If i didn't really hate the shape of most BC's I'd likely own one.
