Tom what about that place you've already got booked for October? Or is that not well known enough/too small?
Perhaps we should stick with 2 smaller sized gigs then. I do like the idea of a headline but the drawback is the money that would sap away from the compilation funds.
For example, loads of people would turn out to a London show if Onslaught headlined, definitely. It's just a question of how much dosh would be left over the the CD at the end of it.
As for another date in somewhere like Wakefield, that sounds ok too. Perhaps it would be good if some people sorted the London date and some people sorted the Wakefield one? If we actually need two shows.

The venue I have booked is blench and has killer sound and roadies there. It holds baaare people! 350 maybe??
Problem is its not well known at all and its a little out the way but five mins from the station.
I agree with all your other points though James.

James you too!
sounds cool, though with any luck the Head will be pretty empty cos everyone will be at Meat Fiddler's Primordial gig!

I may be under the influence but I'm coming round to the idea of travelling to Londonia for a single, yet Thrashtacular, Thrashy booze fest as I'm not sure how successful a Scottish UK Thrash gig would be.

How much would we have to pay Onslaught to play in London? After travel expenses and such like i cant imagine theyd want that much. Theyd be helping the scene out a lot and theyd get to headline a gig in london probably for the first time in a while. It may sap the profits for the c.d. a bit to have them play but i think it would be much less likely to make a serious loss if they played. PLus if they were playing we could justify putting it on in the Underworld.

I think that is the main question, we will have to get in touch with them or their promoters or something. I'll investigate.

Hi peeps, I just discovered this site while trawling through myspace, nice to see some old school thrash fans are still out there! This gig idea sounds great, I'm in a thrash band myself called sigil (and no im not trying to worm into anything here ) and we're always finding it hard to get gigs with other thrash bands, it's all prog/mathcore or troo grim black metal with thier "I aint moshing! it takes hours to aply this eyeliner" crowds.
getting a thrash bill together would be great fun, I'd cerainly go. I would advise tho that with signed bands it does tend to be the record companies that dictate where and when they play and how much they charge and they can be merciless bastards (we had to pay £500 for labrat! still they were worth every penny). They might be some band that would do it for a cut price fee but not many that'd be expecting less than a ton for playing.
Anyways, as long as it's thrash and a lot of people turn up, fucking ace!

If you explained to Onslaught what you are doing they might be prepared to help you out, with just travel costs and a rider to pay for. It is worth asking, the worst you will get is a no.
One more thing if this gig or tour does pull of then contact Simon at AFRM radio, tell him that either Me or Luci said to contact him. ARFM are a station which helps unsigned bands out as well. Metal Team UK are sponsors for his show.

Just Read all the thread ad its a great Idea and i have been speaking to james and i suggested 3 Gigs one up North, one Midleands and one in London.
Say Snooty, the Sugarmill and Underworld, whatever decides to go ahead.
We can sell out the mill in Stoke which is 400 and odd people so thast a good wad of money already from there if you would like to use us to your advantage! obviously with people travellingaswell it would be a rammed gig. Also you wouldnt need a big headliner so that would save u even more money. so just a thought there for the midlands.
The snooty fox, i know Thrash has a massive support up there with PMUK and MetalteamUK, Severed promos and the like so thast a deffo consideration because i know they would all put there backs into it and make it a great night and get people in, they alwasy ram the place out when its promoted right.
Im not so sure about london as i have not much experience with London so leave it to the rest of you.
Also i had an idea about Filming it also?? You could use the videos you get from the snooty fox as they give you the option of filming it dont they? The sugarmill has a perfect balcony to film from and have always done stunning videos there with our video camera's. Then thats leaves london again.
Our Singers dad own a computer shop and would donate CD's DVD's and the like so thats another option and money saving opportunities.
Few things to think about there.
Og BTW i'm Jon from AMENTI hehe HEY THERE!!
