Films and all that

Postby jonny_boy34 on Thu Aug 07, 2008 11:25 am

I think I made a films thread ages ago, I mean two hundred billion years ago, so it's probably not here anymore, so here's another one, mainly because I don't want to make a new thread every time I get excited about a film that I've seen, which happens very often indeed. So, therefore, here is my fun.

Last night I watched Blood Diamond, and I can't believe it. Bloody amazing! It made my eyes moist on many an occasion, and confirmed my belief that Leonardo DiCaprio is actually very good indeed. I thought it would be hilarious watching him trying to be South African, but he actually nailed it pretty perfectly. And that dude from Gladiator, Djimon Hounsou I think his name is, is bloody amazing. The bit when he was hitting the man with the spade towards the end and roaring like a bloody motherfucking was amazing and also made me nearly cry. A really bloody good film!

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is the best film ever made, and that will ever be made.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

I really don't watch many films. Just comedy and comic book adaptations.

Anybody recommend anything where it will make me nearly cry like a bloody motherfuck? Or something with a bit more meaning to it? Rather than zap zap lol lol!

Aye, Blood Diamond is good. I'm not sure if it's just because DiCaprio if in favour with Martin Scorsese that people rate him now but, either way, he's been in a fair few excellent films. I'll watch anything that isn't a 'cult classic' or full of CG to be honest.

Not that into films particularly, but I remember watching Pulp Fiction while my flatmates were having a film night, and it was pretty decent - very cleverly done :)

Pulp Fiction is definitely one of the best films ever. Especially the bit where Marcellus tells Mr Jackson that the Wolf is on his way, and he replies with "Shiiiiit negro, that's all you had to say!" in the best expression ever.

And yeah Lev, watch Blood Diamond, and if you want ultimate crying madness, watch Million Dollar Baby also, as Clint Eastwood is one of the best directors ever.

Million Dollar Baby was excellent, minus the rather obvious ending.

Another fail for Cowert Si's increasing file.

I always get bullied by people more into films than me that I don't watch enough, or the right ones, but to them I say - Have you seen Jumanji eight times? Then they shut up.

Holiday on the buses
confessions of a driving instructor / window cleaner / from a holiday camp
the man with two brains
planes trains and automobiles
top secret
many of the carry on films

^^^ all excellent, but the best film of all time, for its comidic genius and perfect balance of humour has to be:

hear no evil, see no evil
