Cocks.
I heard some Ligature the other day from my fellow drummer, 'twas nice indeed! If I'm around and not working I'll try and make this.

You'll try, but if Jamie goes I'll probably have to work unless Mick either gets another bloody sound engineer or he sacks me.

Re: Nebukadnezza/Sigil/Ligature 21.6.06 fighting cocks
well worth the journey!
a pimped out little venue with leopard skin pool table and zebra skin style painted walls.
the funniest laughable,non-threatening jobsworth joke of a bouncer ive ever seen too.
anyway about the gig:this venue was the smallest id ever been to,which was good coz being 20-30people in there, the size of the venue bought us together and meant no one at the back could hide or stand around too long and the small "gap of hesitation"at the front was filled within 5 mins.the bands could all interact with those at the front and back too.
ligature started and by the second song there was moshing and drink flying about.all those sitting on stools by the little bar in the corner either had to hold thier own or leave the area if they wanted thier pint to stay intact.
then for sigil.2mad but entertaining vocalists, who really got stuck in with the moshers and they were enjoying every minute of it.this set was even crazier and we even had a mini wall of death in there, also by then the floor and stage was covered in beer and it was so slippery that 3people all hit the deck during this wall of death.throughout this set people were skidding and sliding everywhere and pints were being spilt/thrown.there was a safety zone at the back to a point but people still had to keep an eye for the next wave of bodies surging around.i had a tattoo on wednesday so i couldnt be as full on and had to keep running away from the brutalness as my arm took a few knocks and was stinging like 1000wasps.i was in that was of death because the vocalist dragged loads of us from the back/safety zone so i had no choice, although i enjoyed it.i hurt my groin more than my tatto as the floor was so wet i neally did the splits
then finally the band i came to see/support,nebukadnezza.a great set as usual and the chaos continued, always such a variety of songs old and new.lots of headbanging and still more moshing throughout.then the chant of "1more" led to a quality finish/encore.
a great night!
it would have been cool if 1or 2 forum members could have made it down, although it was good to see jamie(merching).
kingston is not as awkward to get to as some may think.even for myself coming from just outside gatwick i only have to change at clapham
and it takes 90mins/2hours tops.worth the journey though

Re: Nebukadnezza/Sigil/Ligature 21.6.06 fighting cocks
Yeah last night was awesome.
Ligature tore the place up!! well impressed by those boys, a fresh take on mixing Thrash and more modern Hardcore with a smidgin of Death metal influence for good measure.
Sigil were absolutely mental!! But good fun too, a similar sort of Deathy Hardcore with Thrash tendencies, but done a bit more simply. Enjoyable, but possibly a bit too... "thugcore" for me! haha, they were nice guys though and did a good job with putting on the gig.
Nebs were shit, they couldn't even play Failure = Destruction properly. what a bunch of idiots!
Had a good time with Thee Rad Rik, and yeah i couldn't believe that fucking bouncer man!! haha bloody hilarious!
From what the promoter was saying they will be putting on some more Thrash events down their in the next few months, considering how close it is to the overground train station and MASSIVE bus station, i would urge people to try and get down there more in the future. its a really cool, intimate and well run venue!

Indeed, sounds it was a marvellous one indeed. Well, Damnas are playing there on July 2nd, not sure who with, but hopefully it will be marvellous and some boys and girls can make it down there. I haven't seen Nebukadnezza play in ages... but they are shit, so I don't care.
