top 3 uk thrash bands!

Postby southwestthrasher on Wed Mar 22, 2006 9:55 pm

I can name a few bands that could give the eagles a run for their money...

Anihilated
Arbitrater
Xentrix
Acid Reign
Virus
Onslaught
D.A.M
Amnesia
Slammer
Deathwish

These are the only uk thrash acts ive heard of back in the 80's and all are exceptionally great, its hard to choose a favourite but my top 3 are 'xentrix', 'arbitrater' and 'onslaught'. feel free to list more great thrash bands from the uk

Chaosphere - or Chaosfear, depending on what time you got into them are good

Naked Ape are great (but that depends on how you define thrash)

DNR are probably the best in the UK now, but I think they're broken up for good

Suprised not to see Sabbat on there! I think a lot of people would consider them to be the best UK thrash band.

Definatly have to add Re-animator on to there, and Lawnmower Deth for the comedy value :D

Fuck it, Xentrix. Sabbat should be there though. Dreamweaver is one of my all time faves.

Wow suprised to see Arbitrater on there, didnt think anyone knew them. Balance of Power is a quality LP.

From the ones listed it would have to be between Anihilated, Onslaught and Acid Reign.

Another band i can think of that hasnt been listed is Moral Cursade, an old Irish band, got their LP An Act of Violence at random and was well impressed :D

Like most people here, I'm surprised not to see Sabbat as an option! Easily the best UK Thrash band. 'History...' and 'Dreamweaver' are classics. Given what's on the poll, I'd have to say Acid Reign. Godddddessss!

Man, I can get enough of Martin Walkyier's vocals. One of the few vocalists with a lisp! And my favorite ever lyricists.

Well I gotta agree with the majority... Sabbat are probably the best closely followed by Xentrix!!!

My first ever gig was seeing Slammer, Crumbsuckers and Onslaught at the Barrowlands... amazing!
