Shut up harris, flying v's are sex objects.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Flying Vs may look cool but are a pain in the sack to play. I'll take a Superstrat before anything else for Metal. I always thought Jeff Young's Tom Andersons were about the coolest guitar that any Thrash guy had played.

I don't like the 'classic' V, it looks really silly, the gibson-style one.. Much prefer the extreeeemer looking ones, I find the Rhodes V really easy to play actually, the bottom point in perfect to rest on the chair/whatever, between my legs!

Generally I'm not that fond of Gibsons. I'm sure I'll get a Les Paul at some point but I much prefer how Strats look. OK, actual Strats play and sound like shit but that's where Charvel come in.

I actually am not a fan of either the strat or the LP, the lp especially so.

Horrid, too many pointless spikes and bits.
I like the majority of Jacksons however, but that being said there are not that many guitars that really interest me at all.

Re: The ultimate thrash guitar????
Yeah, to be honest I would quite like a fairly decent normal shaped guitar like one of those Ibanezszszszs. But I don't really want the hassle of Floyd Roses, I quite like having a fixed bridge on my basic Jackson, and I think it's worth the sacrifice of having no whammy bar.

No, you just have to be a complete simpleton to be defeated by one.
I would opt for a non-recessed Floyd Rose if I could because I don't do harmonic screams often and would prefer the slight improvement in tone from not having a chunk of wood missing from my guitar. Still, any self-respecting guitarist ought to learn how to do whammy bar tricks at some point. As long as you avoid using them in the Rick Rozz 'I can do fuck else' way, eh.

I can do them, I just don't want to spend shit loads of money on a decent enough whammy bar thing for something I rarely ever do. Our music would sound completely gay if it had any whammy screams in it. God, just thinking about it makes me want to hurt myself.

What, whammy screams or your music?!
TEE-HEE!
But yeah, obviously part of being able to play guitar is knowing when not to put in pinch harmonics or a horrible Bluegrass lick, a lesson that Zakk Wylde and Dimebag seemingly failed to learn, and now they're dead.
