From the listeners point of view in most cases I say: yes, fair point.
I'm on a mission lately to make my new tunes as musical and melodic as possible with a good amount of key changes to create lifts in the mood. The end result still has to be HEAVY. God, it's bloody hard. That's why I empathised with MIs comment. Too much machine gun lego riffin' and everything staying in the low E can get depressing after a while. I hate all that jump up and down riff stuff too. It's good to hear some real singing too sometimes. but yeah, I know what you're saying...

As im more likely to sell cds then vinyl.

Basically whilst it would be a ace project, I feel that there are'nt enough bands out there at this present time or bands with new material.... and with no disprespect to anyone, but basically Earache have signed all the forerunner's - 'In UKThrash' bar Mutant (and they have a split coming out with Deceptor soon). So its going to be hard to shift 1000 cds with say 'Savage Animals' newest track if you get me.

Would it be so hard to get permission off Earache to use Evile/SSS/Gama Bomb tracks?

Yeah, I have to aggree. Bangers and Thrash is a good album and got me into quite a few UK Thrash bands, I don't reckon that there'll be enough bands to fill another though for a year or so.

I'm pretty sceptical about the chances of pulling off a good UK Thrash compilation. My two biggest grievances with Bangers and Turd was that it was too long and that whoever produced it wrecked some of the original recordings. IMO, these problems are going to persist unless you all get together a la Band Aid (AIDS!) and do your songs with the same producer. With regards to length, I just thought there were a few songs on there that shouldn't be because they just were not Thrash.

Mind you, I suppose you're not really wanting slick production and universal content if all you're wanting to do is bring peoples' attention to UK Thrash. Personally, though, I don't think Bangers and Tits did justice to a lot of the bands. Granted, some UK Thrash bands are just essentially shit, but there were some songs that made me think 'Thank fuck I've got the original recording of that'.

And that, me hearties, is my two cents.

Yeah, the problem was there was a big gap in quality - i.e. Heretic are really good and everyone else is a load of old tosh.

Exactly.

The gap would have been greater had you covered 'The Sun Goes Down' by Level 42, though.

There's No Other Way by Blur?

I can see that sounding pretty killer. Some Might Say might come off well too.

Blur are shite. Don't much like them at all.

I was thinking "Bring it on Down" by Oasis.

Hmm, what about a James or Shed Seven song?

She's a Star is really killer but I can't imagine it being pleasant if you're going to continue with your Cookie Monster voice. Try holding the note now and see.

Thrash by numbers is a good idea, especially when the numbers don't even look familiar and the ones you can see are upside down and twisted
