Just seen that Loomis has one of the songs 'jato unit' off his new solo album on myspace! i suggest any nevermore fans check it out. its fuckin cool!

Got the album now. What a fucking guitarist. It sounds pretty Nevermore-ish in terms of riffs too.

yea i thought that. i was expecting something different though to be honest, i thought he'd take the oppurtunity to do something different but oh well, its still amazing stuff!

Well, he said it was going to be along the lines of Cacophony. So far I don't really hear the Neo-Classical element. To be fair, some of this just sounds like he's just written in the same way as ever and is soloing where Dane would otherwise be singing. I can't quite understand why he would do an album seeing as Nevermore are still a borderline underground band even after 15 years.

You can hear a bit of his neo - classical playin mainly with his use of sweeps but no it doesn't really sound anything like cacophony. I think it's nice to hear him playing without dane singing though, sometimes he really irritates me. I don't think much of his voice really.

Just giving it a second lesson. I really like it. Though I agree with you that Dane can be piss-poor, I still think I'd rather have heard some of this stuff as Nevermore songs.

I'm quite happy to hear it as just loomis. Infact i think i'd probably rather listen to this then nevermore! Not that i don't like Nevermore but ive just listened to it 3 times over and i really do like it a lot!
