Need more 'Thrash event" gigs...

Like i was just thinking.... next year lots of thrash nights need to happen. Like in the style of this resilliance records bash but mabye try and branch out into differnt types of thrash ...or stuff that isnt based around this forum in the possiblity that the thrash infection will start to spread and we can get the scene livened up.

The winter wonder rage and then full thrash assault are prime examples of what needs to go down more often, as soon as i get my shit sorted out i would love to be playing with some of the bands on these forums.

How often do Thrash events like this go on throughout the year?

There's a few biggies a year, usually based around Jamie's wonderful doings, Dave and Luci's lovely FTA and something involving the Reanimator bois.

I would'nt expect anything in Birmingham of the epic scale of TMM again, due to lack the of venue's and general headache it causes

I want to do something in the summer myself but logistically chances it happening are slim.

Gig wise we do pull out some goodies from time to time, but it gets pretty old putting on just one genre all the time, arguably its our must succesful genre so it has to happen so we can afford to put on other shows.

Saying that there is no reason why with a lot of planning and commitment you' (the punter) could'nt do the same?

Find a venue, pick a date, get a quote, contact bands, advertise.

So yeah that but with a shit tonne load more stress and worry.

I think the main problem is none would be bothered to go. the live scene in the uk is fucking awful and i honestly cant see people comming to go anywhere. For the ressilliance thing its just gonna be us isnt it....?

But yea i would happily plan something if thier was a bigger crowd for it, i would hate to put work in and noone go :/

Like FTA would be more awesome but its gona cost me soooooooo much to get thier...unless someone wants to give me lift in thier car

youll be surprised how many non forumers/metal scene people will be there.also the bands mates/loyal supporters/work colleagues/family etc bulk up the number of people attending.

word of mouth,shitloads of flyering and internet are the best tools in my opinion.and im not even in a band

also when bands play together for the first time they sometimes end up keeping in contact/expanding their network and on occasions they go see the other bands in future as a fan.

Yeah, it's weird to see weird non forum people at uk thrash gigs, that's just weird, but there's plenty of em. KEEP DA FAITH!
