Death Angel Act III
Just adding some tunes to my I-pod at the moment. I am listening to Seemingly Endless Time. I think the album is good, but one of those albums which people tend to forget about. I remeber getting the album when it first came out on LP. However i am not really a Death Angel fan though. what are other peoples thoughts on the album and the band?

Loved it at the time as i was starting to listen to Faith No More and the Chili Peppers and it kinda straddled the ground between the thrash i loved and the "new" rock bands that were starting to get big. Definitely not a thrash record though.

I only have the archive collection. To be honest, I don't think a great deal of Death Angel. Some of their stuff has some nice riffs and some of the screams are fucking manic - proper shrieking! However, I don't think they match their reputation (ie. I wouldn't have The Ultra-violence in my top 10 Thrash albums, though it frequently ends up there). Solid band, little more.

Not a big fan of Death Angel in all honesty, and I don't really consider them a thrash band as such. I do like Act III, but what I heard of their last album was pretty awful.

i only have The Ultra-Violence, and (sorry caps) just for Kill As One it would certainly be in my top 10 thrash albums. i love it, its one of the most passionate things i've ever heard in my life. the opening track Thrasher is such a great innocent and honest song. they are just young boys who have discovered the power of thrash and want to tell the world they are thrashers (and i know how they feel!). i took a while to really dig the album, but it has grown on me soo much. its amazing.
i should start checking out some of their other stuff really, i will check out Act II soon and report back!

Don't bother man!!!! Ultra-Violence is the only good album!!!!!
It's called ACT III (3) by the way, their third album..... the second album (Frolic Through the Park) is also quite flappy and limp, though it has some solid thrash tunes on, unlike act 3...
Love the thrash tracks, not too keen on the groovy-rock-funky-metal songs and some are just bad and annoying.. and the new album is just recycled basic 'thrash' with some groove- not worth listening to!

I think they are the dogs bollocks. Although the Ultra Violence is by far their best, frolic's got classics like Road Mutants, and the other two are good, but then I'm a bit of a sucker for funky-metal. Apart from RHCP, who I fucking hate.
Don't consider them a thrash band?! HEATHEN!!!!!!

I love Act III. It's not as good as the Ultra-Violence but I'd put it above Frolic. It's a more complete album and they weren't afraid to branch out a bit with songs like "A Room With A View". Some great guitar work and Osegueda's voice is (as usual) spot on.
For those that don't know, they also released two albums after Act III as the Organization (same band but without Osegueda) before making a comeback as Death Angel with The Art Of Dying. The two Organization albums are decent enough but they were definitely going more to the funky side of things. They both have a few good tracks on them and again, some great guitar work.

I'm really not a fan of Death Angel. They had some really fucking cool songs but there's no grunt to their music, it's like faggot-thrash to me.
Voracious Souls and Mistress of Pain rule, but from what i've heard everything else is boring and generic.
Dark Angel ftw
Leave Scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaars!!
Wait I stand corrected - their latest really kicks

Death Angel were fucking great up to the ultra-violence, then they went a bit shitty really. The songs on the ultr-violence are all awesome, its just that the production isnt really all that good, check out the deom which was produced by none other than Kirk Hammett, and is far far more powerful!!!
They also were great live ( i only saw them on the UV tour) and at a gig in london, they even had an onstage jam with dumpy from dumpys rusty nuts!!!
All memebers of the band were related, either brothers or cousins, and yes, andy galleon was 14 when the UV was recorded, that was in 1987, however he joined the band in 1983 when he was 10!!!!

Idiots!
Fuckin' love death angel, all of their stuff 'cept the new one really.... ACT III isn't a thrash album, it's quite experimental but still rules.
Frolic, took a while to grow on me buuut has some awesome tracks on there that are up there with the greatest ones on the ultra violence i'd say.
GUILTY OF INNOCENCE!
