WACKEN 202088

General music discussion

As Wacken is getting more popular i really do hope the line up is not going to get diluted with Kerrang friendly metal bands (trivium etc etc) and the whole place is full of the chain wearing, spikey hair gromits. Its the reason i started going to escape download and people like that

As long as Saxon play again I'll be happy. And Opeth should have a new album by then, so maybe they'll be playing too... goodness me, Maiden, Saxon and Opeth in the same festival! If that happens I'll be a very happy boy indeed!

Motorhead should do 08 as well, or at least i hope so.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Maiden must be seen on their home turf.

The whole world's a stage dude.

I can't believe you cunts are so excited about ONE band being announced for the 08 line-up. Then again, I'll obviously see you there. Wacken is the reason that the other 362 days of life are worth living.

Tobi Sammet's Avantasia were confirmed during the "special announcement" on Saturday. For those who don't know, Avantasia are a power metal opera featuring a hell of a lot of singers. How they're gonna pull this off I don't know, but I'm interested in checking it out

I wish theres just as much decent Thrash bands as this year...
Though hopefully it isn't going to get more dilluted with Trivium shirted people (who all seemed to be english speaking  ) was strange as there was none last year....anyways im looking forward to the announcements.

Also they say Wacken isn't going to increase its size and trying to keep it as it is but i heard rumours that they say there is only 70,000 there when infact its alot higher to dodge taxes and theres really about 100,000 people there?

Yeah i heard the rumor about tax dodging too. Wasn't there 70k last year?? It seemed a lot more than last time this year so I would not be surprised if there will be. I doubt they will bill all the metalcore crud as the outrage at Bullet for my valentine this year. However I was surprised to how many Trivium/Slipknot/Enter dire band's name here t-shirts which were on display this year. Blasphemous!
