Re: UK frash bandz planz for 2010
I'm going to form my ultimate heavy metal band "The Heavy Metal Power Of Jon Kushner And His Band", and release an EP of brilliant heavy metal at the end of the year.
Well, the band name might change, but the rest of it actually might be true. I have two songs written, both of which are amazing, although one is a ballady-type thing that I might be too embarrassed to show anyone (although it's not a silly boys ballad, more dark and heavy and nice, although I can't remember how I played it on the guitar as I wrote it absolutely ages ago so I probably won't do anything with it). But the other is a super fun time heavy metal joy. I want to start writing stuff again, that part of my brain's been out of action for far too long. Although I am also starting to write some Mutant stuff with Tom, which is very nice indeed. I'll let him tell you what the plans for Mutant 2010 are... as I don't really know. But anyway, possibly expect a nice mix of Iron Maiden/Saxon/Opeth/Thin Lizzy/Tool/Judas Priest at some point in the future from me... maybe. If I can find enough time to write some good songs, and find people with some free time to play with me. Not sexual.

I’m going to write a thrash concept album which will be about the band Blitzkrieg travelling through time and fighting posers from History..talkin’ ‘bout people like Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir Hugh Despenser the Younger. Blitzkrieg’s travels are ended when they meet the ROCK band May Blitz at the gates of Mordor and kill each other to death.

I'm gonna buy/borrow/steal some instruments and record my Troll 2 inspired grindcore band Nilbog's debut album, "Kingdom Of The Goblins".

Sounds good.
I am going to do a shit.
In other news, Loftin and I will be unvailing our thrashy metal project that currently goes under the name Resistin Arrest. So far five tracks have been fully assembled, known as Victims of War, Dipsomanic, The Truth, The Force and Drunk on Christ. More are on the way and there is a gig on the 16th in Reading for definite. A release is likely to follow at some point this year.
STD-wise, who the fuck knows? The EP was recorded long ago and needs its finishing touches. A drummer is to be sought this year and hopefully gigs, tours and new songs will come to fruition. But hey, STD aren't really thrash anyways but thought i'd share the (limited) news we have.
Looks like 2010 will be an even better year than 2009 - Damnas, Freshney, HOD (again! Bloody hell), SSS, Deceptor and Amok (awesomeness) all releasing shit and Evile managing to return despite their tragic loss. It seems there's a bit of flack gathering around the scene but, really, there's enough energy and commitment here to make this all work out.

Virus are about to release the EP, properly this time, with a better mix.
We've also started writing new material already for the album which we are planning to release this year.
Also gonna do a promo video, which should be a laugh!!
Not gonna be playing London as much this year either, and got a few plans in the works for branching out to the rest of the UK. Festivals and Europe would also be nice

Re: UK frash bandz planz for 2010
We've written 3.5 new lifeless songs
recording two in about three weeks time then releasing one as a download only with a video
apart from that, similar to seregon we will be trying to put our name everywhere to play as many gigs in as many places as possible, hopefully including Europe in the summer
